Grandma who enjoys life, playing and discovering our wondrous world through the eyes of children.
Inter-generational living with my daughter and grand child. Indoor and outdoor spaces available with activities that support children's interests and development. At home we enjoy a range of activities including art and crafts, books, puzzles, dress-ups, games, sports, gardening, nature, science and more.
We attend a regular music group, play group, library sessions, gym, plus other excursions to parks, play grounds, zoo, museum and fire station.
Te mahi ō te tamaiti he tākaro ā "he māramatanga tō tēnei whetū, he māramatanga anō tērā whetū" Every child shines in their own way. I value planned structured learning and spontaneity and free-play equally. Through play, children are empowered to make choices, take the lead, care for and respect others, themselves, property and our earth. I believe positive learning occurs if tamariki feel happy and safe and when kaiako and families maintain close relationships. My aspirations for tamariki are that they are kind respectful and accepting of others. That they are resilient confident learners having means to express themselves freely and culturally, and that they gain a good foundation for further education and future pursuits.
