Our home childcare services focus on play-based learning in a home-from home environment. This is a unique but proven way to support children’s development, giving them space to learn and grow at their own pace.

What is home-based childcare?

Home-based childcare is flexible, regulated childcare from private homes—not big centres. It’s care and education for children aged 0-5 that works around your schedule, whether you’re working, studying, or just need an extra pair of hands.

We match families with the right Educator in your region, bringing together play-based learning, experiences in the community, and a calm, nurturing space for your child. With home-based daycare in main centres such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, as well as smaller regions throughout New Zealand, we can help provide the right foundation and a strong start for all children.

For Educators

Nurture our youngest members of society in a one-of-a-kind role as an educator. Offering in-home childcare puts you at the heart of Edubase, teaching children in a way that reflects your values and philosophies.

For those already in childcare and those looking for a fresh start, we provide the support, tools and mentoring you need to set up and run your home-based ECE service. We take care of those important details, like funding first aid certificates and police vetting fees, and assisting with marketing and insurance. We simply ask that you’re passionate about helping little footsteps to head in the right direction.
