Hello, my name is Melissa, I have 25 years experience, with a diploma and bachelor in ECE training. Also worked within a school environment as an Learning Support Assistant (LSA) as well as a Steiner setting. First aid trained. I'm also a mum.
I offer children and their families a warm, clean home that is happy and inviting. With an expansive outside area that takes on sunshine, greenery and invites native birds. I provide opportunities for children that are age appropriate, with the purpose of extending a child when required. Baking, and some messy play are also on offer. By allowing for down time to explore on their own enables children to create and express ideas without being too teacher led.
Catching the bus is always an adventure. There's a range of things to head out to such as music and movement, library, beaches and playgrounds.
I love the idea that children can learn to explore on their own making discoveries along the way. Being there to provide the care, enthusiasm, love, plus knowing they have someone to turn to for hugs, and listening ear and understanding their feelings is very important. Each child has their own individual needs and interests and being there to help them meet their goals and achievements.
The organisation has undertaken a full safety screening process including police vetting, children's worker interview, identity checking and more. This is completed initially and periodically thereafter. The service deems Melissa safe to be working interdependently with young children.
