Growing Young Minds with Heart

Curriculum and Learning

Mā te aurei o te tamaiti e ārahi i ā tātou mahi

Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work

Guided by Te Whāriki, Driven by Passion

At Edubase, our programmes are guided by Te Whāriki, our national ECE curriculum. Educators are supported by Visiting Teachers and many establish their own philosophy which becomes the driver for their programme. Every Educator is different and we acknowledge and celebrate that this is what sets Home Based ECE apart from other types of ECE available. A one size does NOT fit all approach means there are more opportunities for spontaneity and moving with the interests of the child over a regimented programme that can leave children uninterested or disengaged

Planning with Heart: Notice, Recognise, Respond

We support Educators to work within a planning framework of:

  • Notice – Seeing what the child is interested in learning about
  • Recognise – Setting learning priorities and outcomes based on Te Whāriki
  • Respond – How the Educator supports this learning in meaningful ways

Sharing the Journey with Storypark

Children are set up with a Storypark account at no cost to families. This secure, digital space allows Educators to share learning stories and photos with parents and extended whānau, anywhere in the world. Families can keep their account active, even when children head off to school

Learning Beyond Four Walls

A big part of Home Based Care is being out and about, connecting with the community through events, playgroups, gym and music sessions. Educators create a curriculum that reflects the environments and cultures around them, supporting children to grow their social skills, confidence, and sense of belonging

Absolutely love where my child went, fitted all his needs with his disabilities being autistic, his teacher understood and helped me and my son SO much. The support was outstanding.
Thank you so much.

My experience was over and beyond of what I expected. Our Educator was exceptional with my child. My girl always wanted to go. She didn’t miss a day unless she was sick. Her Educator took them out everyday, playgroup, parks and other cool outings. The communication was always good. I highly recommend this service if anyone is looking.

Our Educator, Sharlena, has been both of our children’s caregiver for the past four years and she has treated our children as if they were her own. Both of our kids are incredibly confident, well-rounded individuals who have loved having Sharlena in their lives, and she will be hugely missed by our whole family. We can’t recommend her enough.

Our Educator offered the perfect environment we needed at the time. We will always appreciate the care and support we received. I will definitely recommend.
