Claudia

Claudia is a Mum to 2 who currently attend Home Based ECE with another Educator. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Teaching ECE, has been working in the Home Based sector since 2022 and the wider ECE sector for some years before that.

Claudia provides Home Based ECE from a farmlet/lifestyle property.  As part of this unique care environment tamariki have daily exposure to caring for animals such as chickens, ducks and pigs.  What fun! Getting out and about in the local community and being involved in preschool groups is important to Claudia and her teaching philosophy.  Their small group of tamariki attend weekly playgroups and gym sessions.  Frequent trips out to explore parks, libraries and walks are enjoyed by everyone as they provide wonderful learning opportunities and enhance social competency.

"The outdoors is an extension of our learning space - a place to discover, imagine and connect with nature.  I value outdoor experiences as vital to children's physical, emotional and cognitive development.  I provide daily opportunities for tamariki to explore and learn through nature-based play.
Most importantly, I  aim to create and environment where children feel sage, supported and challenged.  I provide ample opportunities for them to develop strategies for problem-solving, navigate social situations, and build resilience - skills that will serve them well for life.\Every child is unique, and my role is to guide, observe and support them as they grow into confident and capable learners".

Claudia has undergone initial and subsequent safety screening as required by the Ministry of Education and is deemed suitable to be working independently with young children.
