Experience

Hi, my name is Tash, but my care children call me Aunty Tash as I believe that when I am supporting, teaching, and caring for children I am also doing this for their family, and we become one big care whanau.  My home is full of love and laughter which is only heightened when my 3 school-aged children return home and join in the fun and learning.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Home Environment

I believe in encouraging children and giving them time and a creative space to be themselves is essential for learning and allowing children to express their feels.  I am a very creative person myself and as such will always have more than one learning experience available for children where they can be expressive.  I also strongly believe in children leading their own learn and I enjoy supporting this by encouraging them to share their ideas with myself and others and providing them with a wide range of resources.

Community Involvement

Learning about the wider world around us is also very important, which is why I join in all Kids at Home events such as playgroup, gymnastics, nature walks, and other special events.  I also take my care children once a week to a local music group and will often have playdates with other Educators where our children are able to socialize with others and learn from each other.

Childcare Philosophy

Relationships are very important to me as I believe these are skills that children develop from a very young age and will set them up to be lifelong learners.  Creating a connection and a relationship where children and families feel comfortable and feel they belong within my service is a priority for me, which is why I enjoy meeting new people.
I teach and care for children through kindness, empathy, and reliability. Creating a home away from home environment that is warm, safe, and supportive.
