Experience

I'm Alice, Wife to Ryan and Mum of 3 beautiful kids 8 M (2018) 4 M (2021) and 2 F (2024). I started working at Surrey Park Early Learning Centre back in 2009 until 2020 as an untrained teachers aide, loved it there and learnt so much, but after having my oldest in 2018, I wanted more time with him so in January 2021 I began my Home based journey and I have never looked back.

Home Environment

My husband and I own a lifestyle block here in Myross bush, I love the freedom I'm able to offer the children to explore the outside world at their own pace, and being able to enjoy the "Farm" life and experiences we have to offer here on our lifestyle block. We have a bike track out the back, horses, sheep and some times cows, an extra large back lawn, large play space that offers climbing, balancing, and jumping on the trampoline, as well other gross motor skills.
I also have a smaller outside play space that has a sandpit and sensory garden. A very large vegetable garden where the children help with planting, caring for and eating everything that is grown in the garden. I offer an enriched inside learning environment with plenty to offer all ages such as, dramatic play, family play, building blocks of all kinds, sensory activities, mess play, arts and crafts and so much more. My environment is forever changing to meet the needs and interest's of the current children.
We have lots of outside play, gardening, gross motor play, messy play, arts and crafts, playdough, waterplay, bike riding, books, music, baking and so much more!

Community Involvement

We attend a few outings such as Mondo kids cafe, Playpods, Playgroup, Transport world, local parks, bush walks, The public library, My eldest child's school activities such as assembly's, sports days, pet days. We also do special outings such as the blueberry farm, the Riverton Christmas doors, and any other outings that pop up that the children would love.

Childcare Philosophy

I believe children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore, discover and make sense of the world around them, without unnecessary restrictions. I love following the children's interests and allowing them to lead their own learning, while providing a safe and structured environment where they can grow in confidence and independence.
I believe boundaries and rules are important, but so is giving the children the freedom to take safe risks, challenge themselves and try new things. I aim to gently push children outside their comfort zones while always being there to support, encourage and celebrate them. Most importantly, I want every child in my care to feel safe, valued, heard and confident to be themselves.
