Experience

Hi, I’m Carlene. I am a mother of three and have worked in early childhood education all of my working life.
Outside of work, I love tramping, skiing, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I feel deeply grateful that being an at-home early childhood educator has gifted me a life aligned with my values. One that allows time in nature, connection with community, and the privilege of spending my days alongside amazing children.

Home Environment

My home is warm and welcoming, with simple, large, inviting spaces both indoors and outdoors.
Our day follows a gentle rhythm.
There are plenty of craft supplies and creative materials, supported by thoughtful planning and seasonal inspiration.
I nurture strong partnerships with families. Taking time to understand each families needs and values is important to me.

Our days include:
* Group time with songs, verses, and stories
* Caring for and exploring our large garden
* Hunting for insects and observing nature
* Picking seasonal fruit, vegetables, and herbs
* Baking, preserving, and dehydrating seasonal produce
* Arts and crafts
* Dress-ups
* Dance and music making
* Sandpit, trampoline, and wheels play

Childcare Philosophy

I hold a nurturing,seasonal, Steiner inspired practice. Where reverence, wonder, and imagination live gently within our daily rhythm.
