Correna believes that brain development is critically influenced during these early years in order to form a broad spectrum of social, cognitive and motor skills that will last over the course of their lifetime. She believes every child should be treated with dignity and respect and that every child deserves the best possible care and should be exposed to a variety of rich learning environments.
Correna feels that all children deserve the right to be heard and their needs met at all times. She understands all parents want the best for their children and by listening to parents she will try to meet their routines to the best of her ability and as the service allows. She believes that every child is unique so therefore can each bring something special to her service.
Correna offers a diverse learning and stimulating environment that can change daily, weekly, monthly or as long as it holds a child's interest. She feels learning should be enhanced with fun. She believes in parents having input into their child's development and will regularly talk to them about what they want her to work on or any issues they want her to work with. She believes in nurturing both the child and family in order to develop well established relationships within her family day-care.
Correna feels that you need to absolutely love being with children in order to work with children. She loves to watch them grow and develop into individuals. She believes children learn best when they see themselves as learners and are supported to take risks with their learning and that they also learn more when they are happy.
