Hi I’m Gloria.
I have been teaching for 7+ years and have my degree in early childhood education. I have worked in varying cantres from Montessori, Kindergarten and Reggio Emilia loving each one of the unique settings and have now found Home Based ECE. I also provide foster care for tamariki in need of a loving, safe and supportive place to be, this has been an amazing experience.
The main play space is a nice bright open living area complete with activities for all sorts of open-ended play, including art opportunities, books/puzzles, and sensory exploration baskets. There is a lovely sunny outdoor space, for exploring Papatūānuku, gardening, adventures, and sports. We are within walking distance of the local playground, beautiful streams, and a natural reserve, giving endless opportunities for outdoor exploration and fun.

We value the importance of free play where tamariki can choose what engages them and have their imaginations run wild.
I am all about play, Papatūānuku/nature, and family, whānau and the wider community.
Most importantly as a teacher I put the health, well-being and happiness of the tamariki at the heart and centre of all my teaching decisions. I believe that emotional engagement is the key to all powerful learning. That is why I bring love, laughter, passion, and fun into my teaching. I always look for ways to personalize learning and engage the child’s imagination supporting them to grow as competent and confident individuals.
A child who is smiling, is happy in life and learning.
Gloria has been part of a full 7 step Safety Checking process which includes Police vetting, face to face interview which judges my attitudes and values, referee and identity checking. My home has been assessed as safe to provide Home Based childcare.
