Experience

Kia Ora, hello to all.
My name is Jacqui. I am married with four adult sons. Our youngest, Rawiri, 19 years is living at home. We share our home with 2 cats and 2 zebra finches.
I have been working as a Home Based Educator for the past 24 years.
As an Educator it is my passion to engage with children in my care in a meaningful, positive way which enhances your child's learning. For me this means being present in the moment with them. To show respect, to listen and respond to their needs.
My hobbies include gardening, cooking with different ingredients and learning while walking amongst nature.

Home Environment

Our home environment is welcoming, inclusive, respectful whilst acknowledging that each child enters with their own special individual personality. They will be affirmed and nurtured within this environment.
Our house is open plan in the living areas. Fully fenced with large paved area for riding bikes. We have a large sandpit, a variety of different points of interest set up for learning interaction. Our property has access to a nature reserve from the back yard.
Jacqui's house offers opportunities for messy play, water play. Arts and crafts, music.
Opportunities for your child's to challenge themselves physically through obstacle courses.
Building magnets, blocks, puzzles, books.
Board Games, card games which provide learning by turn taking, asking question and develop and understanding the rules of the games.

Community Involvement

Our typical week is made up f the following activities and adventures:
Monday: is a home day or park day depending on the weather.
Tuesday: Music group
Wednesday: Dinsdale Story time Library Group
Thursday: Gym group
Friday: Child focused day. An opportunity for your child's to say what they would like to do.
We have different monthly excursions for your child's to attend.

Childcare Philosophy

I believe each child is a unique individual, who arrives with their own personality, belief systems and cultural identification. I aspire to develop a mutual respectful, caring and nurturing learning environment. I will foster a feeling of belonging and for your child to feel they have a special place at Jacqui's house.
It is my personal belief that at as an Educator that at certain times in our relationship I will become the learner and your child will teach me. We all can learn something from each other. This helps to create a reciprocal relationship between your child and myself.
My teaching approach is with a holistic view, which incorporates, cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
I am here to offer support and encouragement while empowering your child to become a confident, inquiring, capable learner who ask questions.
It is my goal as an educator to unlock, engage with tamariki so they may reach their full potential whilst having fun learning at Jacqui's house.
