Experience

I am a registered Early Childhood Teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). I have been working in Early childhood centers since around 2001 and am now celebrating operating my own Home- based space out on our farm which is based in Fruitlands, Alexandra 12kms out of Alexandra.🌸
I have worked with children from birth to 5 years and in this time I have also worked alongside neuro diverse children.
As a mother myself (my son and daughter now adults and blessed me with grandchildren) I know what it’s like to have to leave your child while having to work.
My goal is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment with children feel safe happy and inspired to learn through play.
I provide a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for all children and families. As well as a large space for outdoor activities and fresh air, we offer a chance for children to get up close with our sheep, lambs and friendly flock of chickens. We spend time outdoors whenever possible going for walk and enjoying nature.

Home Environment

I am based in beautiful Fruitlands, Alexandra and have beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for children to learn, grow, explore and build meaningful relationships at their own pace.

Community Involvement

We visit our chickens daily to collect the eggs and care for the chickens, depending on the season there may be pet lambs to feed, my space is open ended and have a table for arts and crafts.
We also visit the local library and attended the local “Moovers and Groovers” music and dance sessions weekly and help plan for other activities that the tamariki would like to do. Sometimes we also attend Playcentre in nearby Roxburgh.

Childcare Philosophy

I am passionate about reconnecting children to nature, supporting families and providing a relaxed and nurturing environment for children to shine. I provide a home-away-from-home where children can learn, grow, explore, and build meaningful relationships at their own pace. I recognise that the early years are the foundation for lifelong learning, and I am committed to creating experiences that support each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
I believe children learn best through play, curiosity, and hands-on experiences. By encouraging exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and independence, I help children develop confidence in their abilities and a love of learning.
