Experience

I’m a mum to my little boy, Noah, and becoming a mum is what inspired me to start home-based childcare. Before having Noah, I didn’t have professional childcare experience, but I’ve really enjoyed learning everything that comes with caring for a baby and watching him grow and develop.

I’m also a nurse and have worked in nursing for nearly a decade. My nursing background has given me a strong understanding of safety, first aid, recognising when someone isn’t well and caring for people with different needs. I’m excited to bring my experience as a mum and a nurse together to provide a safe, relaxed and caring environment for other children.

Home Environment

We have a dedicated sleep-out set up as the childcare space, with a nice big fenced backyard for the children to enjoy. I’m creating the space to feel cosy, welcoming and fun, with room for play, books, creative activities and quiet time. I want it to feel like a little home away from home where children can feel comfortable, safe and free to explore.
There is a good mix of play and activities throughout the day. We might do some painting or crafts, read books, listen to music, dance, play outside, do some sensory play, bake or explore the garden. I also follow the children’s interests and let them have plenty of time for free play and exploring things at their own pace.

Community Involvement

We make the most of our local community, with regular walks and trips to parks and playgrounds, the library, playgroups and other child-friendly activities. I think getting out and about is a great way for children to explore, have fun and experience new things.

Childcare Philosophy

My childcare philosophy is centred around creating a warm, nurturing and safe home away from home where children feel valued and supported.
I believe every child is unique and deserves to be cared for as an individual. I value building strong relationships with children and their families and providing plenty of opportunities for children to learn through play, exploration and everyday experiences.
Above all, I want the children in my care to feel happy, safe and secure, giving them the confidence to grow, learn and explore the world around them.
