Experience

My name is Laura. I have over twenty years experience in the early childhood sector.
I began my journey in Australia, working in a multilingual day-care centre in Sydney.
I decided after two years that my passion for childcare was in-home care so chose to be a Nanny. I looked after numerous families over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it, developing close bonds with the children and families.

One family offered me the opportunity to join them in America to look after their twins and expectant new-born. I worked for one year in the States before returning to New Zealand to build a house and start my own family.  My daughters have been raised amongst my Home Based childcare environment and as a result, are welcoming and nurturing of children in my care.

Community Involvement

Kids at Home and other community activities compliment my programme by giving children the opportunity for excursions outside the home. This provides the children with the benefit of experiencing small and larger group environments.

Childcare Philosophy

I have a passion for providing children with a safe, secure environment, where their individual strengths and needs are celebrated and supported. I pride myself in building relationships with whanau and find these to be fundamental in creating a partnership for children’s learning.

Testimonials

“As a parenting coach and FTM Educator; the bar is set very high at the outset as to who I trust to provide holistic care for my child. I visited 8 providers within the Papamoa area before stepping into Laura’s home and feeling immediately ‘this might just be the one’. Laura treats the children in her care as she her own. With respect, lashings of love, clear boundaries and allowing them to express themselves safely. There is a strong emphasis on learning through play and imagination which is something our family strongly values. Laura communicates and get excited about each milestone, be it big or small and actively sends us images depicting the days’ adventures. Laura is a talented Educator who’s relationship with Sailor is so evident. She goes the extra mile to accommodate the varied needs of the children in her care and as a parent, I feel comfortable approaching her about anything related to my daughter and her care.”
