Experience

I started as an Educator back in 2012 when my second child was 6 months old. I found I had a passion for caring and educating children when I took my oldest son to play centre and really enjoyed being part of that experience with him. I live with my husband and two teenage children as my oldest has moved out of home. I have been providing Home Based child care from home for 14 years and my children have grown up with this a normal part of their home life.

Home Environment

I work down the back of our property in my big enclosed conservatory. In summer the big doors of my conservatory bi-fold back to a lovely indoor outdoor flow. This is perfect for supervision of the children at all times as I can see them all and the children can explore where they prefer to play. I have a big backyard with grass area and concrete path and big concrete surface in front of double garage for ride ons etc.
I set toys out at the start of the day and rotate them around throughout the day to keep them stimulated. I offer paint, playdough, crafts and water play in summer and much more.

Community Involvement

I believe in getting out in the community and experiencing all the different activities like music groups, library, playgroup, drop in gym and I get a yearly pass to transport world. I believe to foster bigger group connections with the children and other Educators so the children get to know other children and Educators if need back up care.

Childcare Philosophy

I believe in child-led play and caring for their individual needs. I like to notice and follow children interests and build on that. If they need extra support to overcome challenges I also like to support them in this also. It’s important to support emotional well-being through the day and help them wherever I see a need. I see myself as an extension of what their families to carry on what the families wishes are for that child when they can’t be with them through the day. I like to follow the parents lead and follow on where I can with routines and interests and needs parents notice from home so the child feels nurtured with the same care and needs.
