My name is Tania and I am Mum to 3 adult children and Grandmother to 1. I have been working as a Home Based Educator for more than 28 years and am passionate about providing exceptional childcare and education to young children. I hold the NZ Certificate in ECE - Level 4 and a relevant first aid qualification at all times.
Te Reo Maori is used daily in our conversations and learning experiences. Children learn to understand the dual heritage of our country.
We have a very friendly brown Lab named Millie. There's a big back yard with plenty of room for bikes and other ride on toys, a sand/mud kitchen and a vege garden where children learn about where our kai comes from. Being close to beaches, the forest and estuary, we regularly head out for walks in our community.
Our community is our learning environment. We head out often to explore and learn from the world around us.
I believe children learn through play and experiences, learning at their own pace through self directed play. Tamariki feel a connection to our local area and Tuakana -Teina relationships are supported as an important aspect in our Home Based ECE setting. This is further supported but connecting with other children attending Home Based settings within our HGK whanau.
