Experience

I am a mum of two boys who loves coastal living, gardening, and spending time outdoors with my family. We are heavily involved in our community and are often busy moving from one sport to another as my boys grow. I have worked with children for over 15 years, beginning in early childhood centres in Auckland before transitioning to Home-based care in 2016, when my eldest was just five months old.

Home Environment

My home has great indoor outdoor flow offering children the best of both worlds. A big open living room where activities are set up daily with the freedom to explore toys that catch their attention and a large back garden where there is plenty for children to do, climb, explore and move.
In my home, I provide a wide range of experiences based on each child’s interests—from animals and transportation to blocks, baking and music. I love incorporating messy play into our days, so extra clothes are always a must!

Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace, with access to a variety of outdoor equipment that supports active play and discovery. We also enjoy seasonal planting together, nurturing seedlings to grow in our garden or to share with our local bike park.

Community Involvement

We regularly visit local beaches, reserves, parks, community bike park, music and movement, library and local retirement village.

Childcare Philosophy

My philosophy is centred on creating a warm, nurturing environment where tamariki feel safe, valued, and connected. I follow children’s interests, embracing child-led and spontaneous play as meaningful ways for learning to unfold.

I value time spent in our community and in nature, fostering a love and respect for Papatūānuku and encouraging kaitiakitanga.

At the heart of Home-based, we nurture the foundations of being a good human, respect, kindness, communication, manners, and unity—supporting tamariki to grow as confident, caring, and capable individuals.
